Auckland domestic lounge - booze free
The Auckland domestic lounge’s liquor license must have expired without someone remembering to apply for a renewal... because there was no alcohol available in the lounge tonight.
Unsure how long it will be before the license situation is resolved!

Was anyone there on Thursday/ Friday evening between 4 and 6 pm? Curious to know if the atmosphere was more civilized and less pub/ working mens club like without the booze?

In the lounge for the first time since the "booze ban" and seems many people quite confused!
When I walked in I spotted one gentleman having what looks like a glass of wine and i asked him where he got it and he pointed to the fridge....he wasnt aware it was alcohol free!
A few other people are wondering around looking from their fix too!
on which note I might pop over to the cafe/bar next to the lounge for my quick fix before my flight!
Anyone have any idea how long this very first world problem will last?

From Auckland City Council website
"When to renew your alcohol on-licence If you have an existing on-licence, you must apply to renew it at least 20 working days before it expires. If you know you'll be submitting your application less than 20 working days before your current licence expires, you need to say on your application form why it is late"
