Seat Select is not available on this flight (Operated by ANZ)

Currently the message showing for NZ29 from Houston IAH to AKL on Nov 15 for our premium economy seats. I read in another thread this could be related to equipment swapping issues but also read the 787 servicing the IAH route is not one with the engine issue.

Plus, when trying to book a new ticket on that flight - Premium Economy shows as "Not available on this flight".

Trying to determine if Premium Economy is just currently sold out (offering no new tickets to be purchased and no possibility to move seating) or if this is indicative of a future aircraft swap? I've been trying to monitor closely to make adjustments as necessary to travel on Air New Zealand metal. (Also trying to avoid calling in as the hold times have been lengthy lately)

It was announced about six weeks ago that IAH will be moving to a 777 for the Northern Winter. Your flight will be changing from a 789.

Thanks sbiddle, any link to that announcement? Fine by me on the change - more upgrade availability.

I was told about it by a friend on the 777 but do recall seeing a mention somewhere possibly on here. It's bound to be on routesonline

Here's hoping it's one with wifi! (I have a J flight mid-December to IAH)

According to Expert Flyer, IAH to AKL on 25 Nov is a 789. There are currently 9 unallocated seats in Premium Economy.

The reference to Routesonline in previous reply actually shows the change to 777 occurring on 26th Nov.

EF showing 9 free means there is 9± free, as AirNZ only shows 9 max, as 10+ bookings have to go to group travel

On EF, the '9' means 'at least 9' seats, for the reason noted above (but could be others).

Does EF say anything about IAH to AKL on Nov 15? (That's what was in my original post). I get an error message when I check EF - I did end up speaking with ANZ who just said the cabin was full and any seat changes would have to be done at the airport.

Yep, looks full in Business (C/D/Z/J) and just one seat in Premium Economy (U/E/O/A). Economy also fairly full as well:

NZ 29 0 IAH
15/11/18 19:20 AKL
17/11/18 5:30 789
