Any speculation on how long it runs before they "enhance" it away?
Knowing Huston, I can't see it working as anything other than a transit point. The city is ok to live in (somewhat) but it's pretty awful IMO for tourists as a destination in and of itself.

If you're trying to get to the Caribbean or the east coast of Mexico, IAH is one of the better airports (after MIA and, perhaps, LAX). Ditto the NE US, since the current LAX services almost always put you on one of those horrid US red eye flights to JFK or IAD or BOS: 4.5 night flight with no real time to sleep.

I am confident that this route will be a success. Granted, Houston isn't the nicest city but neither is Dallas which QF has been very successful in!
