First MEL flight
Yes 10th Jan is the first AKL-MEL flight, NZ123 @ 8am. If you look carefully, its actually cheaper to book on Business Premier than economy on that day!!!

Originally I was booking myself on this flight so I could try the new Y+ seat, however with works deluxe fares being about $40 higher than business premier I decided the test drive on that seat can wait for a later date.

EK started the ball rolling ages ago. Its B777s have only ever had 10-across seating in Y. Over the years, some others have joined in. Besides AF/KL (10 across now fitted to their newer B777s with older models being retrofitted) you will find that EY is busy fitting this layout on its B777s.

Both SQ and BA maintain 9 abreast in Y on their latest 777s. NZ had a chance to sell more room in economy than almost all of its competitors, and it has decided that the loss of some passengers due to the configuration is more than made up by the majority of Y passengers not having a clue about it.
