Earn rate on discount F: US vs CO

I've taken advantage of a few discounted domestic F fares on both carriers, and have just noticed that while US credits to my AP account as F, CO seems to classify it still as discounted (not even full Y) economy.

I suspect it has to do with the buckets the 2 airlines use, as I noticed CO seems to use Z, while US tends to use A.

Have others noticed similar? I'm not sure if I should bother requesting to at least be given full Y, as I don't really need the extra SP anyway to requal this year.

As an aside, on the occasion when I've paid for an u/g on US during check-in, it credits as full Y, fair enough, but I am instead discussing discount fares at the original time of booking.

When looking at domestic "F" prices on a third party site I've noticed that CO flights seem to show as "Business" rather than "First"...

Could that be related? I find it quite odd....

According to this link, Z should credit at Business Class level.

US check in u/g uses O class which is why you were credited full Y.

CO do not have a booking class that credits to Airpoints as First Class.

UA and US do (*UP type fares seem to use A class for on these.)

As mentioned above CO Business First is not treated as first class. A trap for young players.

Indeed, CO's BF is a far cry from international F.

BF is an international brand and the OP said he flew domestically (within US), so he used First Class:

West Coast A-class fares on US Airways are low (SLC-PHX-LAS/RNO for example), thus indeed excellent for premium MR

What a weird experience - I finally checked my AP account, and found my outbound flights were credited as discount economy but my return flights were full economy.

My original itin had me in Y on the PWM-CLE and EWR-PWM legs, and in Z on the CLE-PHX/PHX-EWR segs.

I hadn't realized that CO did this and won't be flying them in domestic F again. I'm assuming that if I ever go for J on the 787 that it will credit as *A J, is this correct?

Follow up

Credit Admin at NZ corrected my APD/SP earn rates after I submitted an online request and copies of my BPs.

I haven't flown CO in quite a few years, so will chalk this up to a learning experience!

^ to NZ for sorting things out so smoothly for me!
