That said, you can downgrade your card to silver, then upgrade again to gold when you feel the need for it.
At your anniversary date, you should only get the silver XP bonus.

You cannot "delay" your anniversary and you cannot "suspend" your account.

The only way to change the date on which you receive your XPs would be to close the account, and then when you want/need the XPs again, to open a brand new credit card account.

Besides, doing so is probably meaningless. You will get your bonus XPs once per membership year. Based on what you've written, you want to "prevent" yourself receiving them in October, and instead getthem in January . This implies that your new status year starts in January. But you would get bonus XPs in that following membership year, anyway - in October of 2021, rather than in January of 2021 as you appear to now wish to change it. The exact timing of when you receive the bonus XPs may affect how early you requalify, or qualify for a higher level - but in no case would it change the basic fact that you receive the bonus once per membership year. As such, going to all this effort to prevent receiving XPs in October probably doesn't make as much sense as it appears you think it does!
