If I am traveling on a SkyTeam airline with a same day domestic to international connection, I know I can have lounge access on the domestic leg. What if I am traveling in the other sense, and will be connecting from an international to a domestic flight? Can I access the lounge on the subsequent domestic flight? E.g. AZ itinerary AMS-FCO-VRN.
yes, it’s no problem Concerto

Thanks for the responses. Concerning my trip to becoming Platinum, which included playing the Castérède Tuba Sonata 54 times in South Korea, I will continue to relate these experiences over on the Flying Blue Mileage Runs thread. Instead of making them trip reports, which would be inappropriate for that thread, I will make them short flight reviews followed by some interesting anecdotes about what happened at the destination (such as the 1st Trombone of the Osaka Philharmonic, a young woman, keeling over after one single sip of beer on a night out with friends at the Festival on Jeju Island).

Is the tuba Platinum too?

The tuba is probably Platinum Ultimate! But unfortunately I don't actually play the instrument, although I coach the players. I accompanied all the contestants in the international competition, although I was originally asked to do the trombones ... or euphoniums. The tubist from the Geneva Brass Quintet had an issue at the airport with China Eastern, which I didn't quite understand, and he ended up checking in the case but taking the bare instrument itself into the cabin with him!

May I assume that you were the only pax on that flight, or that the purser had very good reason to neglect his duties and ignore all his other customers on board?

I don't really care whether the purser comes and says hello or not, but I can confirm that it is hit and miss. When it does happen, at least in the J cabin, the purser usually visits all pax, not just a select few.

On a flight yesterday the purser was one of those invisible ones. I saw her walk down the aisle once or twice, that was it on an 11 hour flight.

Very nice attentions from the cabin crew on my last flight in J from BLR, including a pleasant, unforced chat with the boss lady. Proactively offered espresso after dinner and digestifs seemingly only suggested to me (perhaps something on the iPad about my alcohol consumption??). All round excellent crew with a couple of special Platinum additions - a reminder of why I started giving AF the bulk of my long haul flights rather than Emirates etc.

Being Plat now for my 2nd year, I’ve found that i get OPUP's on SH AF flights, but never on KL. Probably just luck, more than anything else. Never for either on LH

It also seem that if I’m traveling at the end of a work day and in shirt/dress trousers then the purser will come and say hi, if I’m in a T-shirt for a long travel day, I never get an acknowledgement.....

Last week at CDG I saw an Ultimate Plat being escorted to the dedicated Ultimate holding pen in the 2F lounge. I was surprised when I boarded the plane to find the same Ultimate plat sitting next to me on my KL flight to AMS: he was in the middle seat, I was in the aisle. The purser did not acknowledge either of us throughout the flight. So it seems the experience is inconsistent at all status levels.

Just had another very nice flight on the CDG-BLR route. The purser asked me about my choice of main course during her introductory chat, well before service started, and did the same again for the pre-landing light meal. Generally a great crew, with my wine glass constantly refreshed during the main meal (I am definitely an alcoholic on the iPad!). The experience was all the sweeter because my original flight was with Jet Airways...

As a "regular" Platinum, very pleasant experience Monday on MXP-CDG.

I boarded the plane and behold what I found on my seat :

Text basically says:

"Hello Mr. XXX, the entire crew is available for you during this flight. Do not hesitate to ask us anything. Thank you for being a LOYAL customer. Have a great journey."

And the crew came several time on this short flight to ask my if I wanted champagne or I needed anything else. I wish it was standardized across the board.

This is something I get sometimes as Ultimate, but this is great that this crew did that for a "regular Platinum". ^^^
