I'm being offered CDG-OPO for $212.90. My travel companion on a different reservation is being offered it for about $112. I think I might have caught NDPU.

What upgrades have you taken in last year?

I now had several paid upgrades proposals in a row for medium haul flights in the 89-99€ range. it seems I am released from purgatory, in conditional freedom

Welcome back!

I also noticed that the most annoying disappearing seat map weeks before departure bug hasn’t shown up lately.
And even though it’s still often impossible to pick a seat when the cabin is too full and it’s too close to departure, the new « OLCI upgrade » button that’s now ostensibly displayed in the app allows one to open the seat map almost until boarding starts

I bought upgrades on AMS-BSL and AMS-JFK, and I flew North America to Europe to Asia and back in paid business class.

I definitely understand why a machine learning algorithm would label me NDPU, but I'm cheap so it's not going to change my behavior.

For paid upgrades, do you earn the new business class XP and Miles?

Nope - only when you upfare - which means paying the regular fare difference to business class.
For last minute upgrades you don't earn extra XP.

mileage upgrade

Can someone explain to me why a mileage ticket costs less than an upgrade?

I am holding a one-way non- refundable ticket in economy GVA-CDG-PVG. The long flight is wide open in all booking classes.

To upgrade my ticket to business, they are asking 105.000 miles for the long flight alone.
To „buy“ a new award ticket, AF is asking 70.000 miles, including the short haul GVA-CDG.

What would you do? Wait for check-in to open and buy an upgrade for money? Bribe the agent? Or throw away the eco ticket and get a new mileage ticket?
