CDG - IST Tempo Challenge : Can I expect a hot meal ?
I will be flying to IST soon and I wonder if I will get a hot meal on this "more than 3 hours" route.
I will be flying in "S" (Tempo Challenge).
Any similar experience (ATH, IST...)?

I fly CDG-ATH once a month, in C either because I am booked in C or because I upgrade from S to C using cash, which I find both expensive and worthwile. Do you also get a hot meal in S for ATH ?
I am also interested in learning about CDG-IST in C as I will be travelling to IST for the first time next September. Anything special, lounge, service, pitfalls ?

CDG-IST is 2,000 € in C and 1,600 € in S. That would be +200 € for a one-way upgrade. Is it really worth it?
TK from Orly is much cheaper (1,300 in C!). With stupid corporate travel rules (no biz "intra Europe": come on boss, it's Turkey, it's not in Europe yet ), I won't be allowed TK's C but will be authorized to fly AF Tempo Challenge, which is more expensive

Well, it's closer to 350€ for ATH , both ways.
- lounge access makes no difference, even if you are Rouge light
- before AF introduced last fall excess baggage allowances, the difference was useful, although I have never been charged for excess baggage by AF, up to 10kgs
- you do get long-haul wines in C, as well as the pre take-off drinks
What is actually really useful for me:
- not being stuck in a middle seat (compare that to BA Club Europe, although reaching Gold seems to help)
- being able to switch airlines
On other European routes, the fare difference is much lower (IIRC, less than 60€, round trip for CDG-LUX, operated by LG) and you also sometimes have access to D2 fares, but then you cannot switch airlines.

As far as miles are concerned, I wonder what kind of rules they enforce on these 3ish-hour routes. I should get more than the minimum 750 miles for sure but then? 100% COS in S?
At Fréquence Plus good old time, AF website used to display a useful mileage calculator but it doesn't exist anymore.
My electronic timetable (Air France Traveldesk) says 1,390 miles one way. So that should be 2,780 x 2 (100% COS bonus for S) = 5,560 status miles .
Is it correct?

Yes, the 100% COS bonus for intra-European S and C is a major improvement over good old Fréquence Plus ^
