Old business class

Does AF still have many 777s that use the old business class? Are they still working on converting these and if so, when will this be finished? It seems to be taking an awfully long time!

the short answer is that only 44 of the 106 longhaul planes are equipped with new flat seats. 24 777s are not. Apparently, no plans to have more retrofitted in the short term (till 2019). See other threads

That's not many! My two flights later this year are both listed as the new seat just now, so hopefully no change.

SFO-CDG, being based in SFO, I don't have another option for AF and fly Delta on TPAC routes (oh and Delta 767 Delta One seat > NEV4 seat )

Personally, I disagree on that. Of course the big plus of the D1 seat is the direct aisle access for all seat, but in term of comfort, I much prefer the AF NEV4 to the DL D1 in the 767.

btw. speaking of DL vs AF, what do you think about DL D1 on future A350? I like how it is more of an actual suite, but the seat pitch / width looks a little smaller than 777 / A330 D1 etc.

Not really an actual suite. It's just a similar seat to what they currently have in the 767s but with a dividing wall and sliding door. Nothing to get excited about.

A350 is wider than 767, so I'm hoping the seat is also a bit wider.
