Witness of inappropriate behavior by AF staff ... what to do?

I would appreciate fellow forum visitiors opinions on the following; traveling in J class from CDG to ATL, I was unintended witness of inappropriate physical behavior between male/female flight staff during the flight .... and it was far more than a kiss or a hug. Fortunately, I wasnt traveling with my kids since it was an ugly scenery and this kind of behavior went on during the whole flight.

At a certain stage, I closed the cabin curtain and the image of this experience I kept in my mind further on today.

So my question is, what would you do? Report it or just let it go?

Hello

welcome to Flyertalk

unless you want 2 persons to lose their jobs, i would advise you not to intervene

one should report bad behaviour from staff only if it was against you (staff being rude, insulting you...)

otherwise, it's up to them not to get caught by their superiors

Welcome to FT! Interesting first post.
Unless you took pics or a video, not much you can do at this point.
Even I you were moved to report it, it's their word against yours.

Out of curiosity, how far did they go??

I'm sorry if this sounds rather crude but could you tell us (1) what you actually saw and (2) where you actually saw it? I'm trying to think of something that could go on throughout the flight but was still more than kisses/hugs etc. It seems hard to imagine crew engaging into something pornographic in a galley knowing that passengers pretty much go to the toilets or come help themselves to drinks throughout the flight. It seems a bit useless too considering that they have access to the crew rest area which is actually very discrete and sheltered from anyone's sight. I'm not doubting that you were shocked by what you saw but I'm trying to figure out exactly what it was to answer your question as it seems to me that in such a case, the devil is in the detail.

To clarify, I'm not targeting for anyone to lose their jobs but sense checking about what 'others' would do .... I could have taken pics but that would be inappropriate as well, don't you think?

My whole point is, and I assume this is the case, that everyone 'likes' to behave what I now called 'inappropriate' but not by professional staff we PAX pay for and whom are to provide an in-flight service so basically great act, wrong place.

As to SFO777' question - it was at a stage you basically wished for them not serving your food without you knowing if they washed their hands. Trying to save you further details ....

FA never touch food directly with their hands, so you would not have to worry about that

Orbitmic - it happened in the galley between the 2 J class seating areas after lunch was served and about 4hrs into the flight. In terms of detail, I don't know if I can be that explicit in what I withnessed but I can tell you the color of her underwear and that he's right handed ...

Again folks - I only raised this topic since this whole scenery stayed in my mind and was wondering what to do with it ... no other intentions at all.

I'm not completely following. Do you mean that whatever it is you saw would have been fine if it had taken place between two passengers on the plane but not between two crew members?

And I'll admit that I would never want crew members to serve me food without having washed their hands regardless of what they may or may not have done before meal time!!

To be honest - I don't know since I closed the curtain but I noticed that the rest of the flight I got the 'funny' look from the female FA .... Also, everyone should do what they feel they should but I simply don't expect this from FA' providing a service, neither would I find this appropriate to witness from my med, dentist, or lawyer, etc.

Feel really bad now since I was just curious to how everyone else would react or follow up on in a simular situation.

it would appear to me that this was much much more than a bit of harmless fun and something to be kept in the privacy of ones home

what action you take is up to you but I would not say you were wrong in reporting this matter

as it is your word against theirs I doubt they would lose their jobs but a word from their superiors may prevent this happening again

I can understand why you are a little upset about this

I think this thread should be closed. The OP seems either unable or unwilling to clearly describe what s/he witnessed. Such a description does not have to be graphic, the English vocabulary is rich enough to avoid becoming obscene. Instead so far we got prude insinuation of some misbehavior that we are unable to properly evaluate and thus are left to make wild guesses and sweeping claims.

I tend to agree. If the conduct was worthy of complaint, then surely the correct course of action was to complain on the spot, either to the couple in question or to the chef de cabine, or as a more realistic option, to just ask the couple involved to be more discreet. I presume you weren't following them around to check on their behaviour all through the flight!

The moment has now passed, so I would just say drop it.

God knows if you make a complaint, you'll actually have to tell them what it is you are complaining about. /thread.

I guess with the information you provided, an Air France lurker will be able to find who the FA's on duty in J class were during the CDG-ATL flight of August, xxth.
