Q on codeshare flights

I am flying CHA-ORD-YWG this summer. The ORD-YWG legs are AC flights, but I will have to buy the ticket with a UA number (AC has no service, not even codeshares, to CHA).

The question is, will I be able to get AC miles for those legs? (I know I will on the CHA legs--flown that route before when Chicago was my real destination.)

You will earn Air Canada Aeroplan status and flight miles on all UA designated flights whether or not they are code share with Air Canada (if I understand your question correctly).

Just checking through my records and I sometimes have had to ask Aeroplan to credit my UA flights in the past as they have been slow to do (or lost?). I usually give them 2 weeks, then I phone Air Canada. Failing that you will need your original boarding cards (make sure you keep a copy!) to send to Air Canada.
