Boarding process?

I have not taken AC in many years. I am flying AC to/from SFO-YYZ. I used to have *A status but am now zilch. Couldn't find this info using the forum search.

Most airlines have a set boarding process. My guess it is First then some sort of *A Gold/elites order then by boarding area/group (where its like back to front, window to aisle)?

Is AC similar? I have 26D on the outbound and 21D on the return on the reconfigured A320. I made sure to pick the aisle side with the power port.

Thanks for the help!

Yeah you're pretty much right. From my (somewhat limited) experience it's the priority boarding first (executive class and status pax), then economy is done back to front, for SFO-YYZ on the A320 economy boarding is done in 3 batches I think (or maybe only 2, don't remember exactly).

IIRC

1. Pax with children and those who need assistance (wheelchair etc)
2. Executive / Executive First, Super Elite, Elite and Star Alliance Gold members
3. Other pax (from back to front)

1 -> 2 -> 2 and 3

Warning: On occasion, for #2, some GAs only announce J but fail/neglect to announce status boarding. YMMV.

correct me if I'm wrong, I thought XMed AC aircraft has a power plug for every seat, or at least 2 for 3?

1 for every 1-2 seats, but it's nice to have the plug actually in your area rather than the negotiation/imposition for someone else's space.

Embraer: 1 port per 2 passengers in Y
Airbus/Boeing: 2 ports for 3 passengers in Y
(see www.seatguru.com for positions)

Thanks for the help. Fortunately, check-in bags on AC to/from USA are free so that'll take open up more overhead bin space hopefully.
