Please list your AP Taxes and SURCHARGES on AP reward tickets

I would appreciate AP Members input on how much they paid for there AP reward tickets in fees and SURCHARGES.. Please list the routing, the airlines flown or to be flown and class of service and how many points the reward cost...I paid $31.50 AP service fee plus $32.75 in taxes for a grand total of $64.25.... Routing is : YVR-SEOUL-SIN-SYD-SIN-BKK-SEOUL- YVR..... SYD is my point of turnaround.... and my SIN-SYD leg shows 77W  All flights are on SQ except BKK-SEOUL is on TG. All flights are in BIZ Class and cost 100,000 miles..

They match up as I don't think YQ (fuel surcharge) is charged on some of the revenue MEX routings/ tickets.;)

If you fly AC it cost more as they charge fuel charges on rewards where as other partners do not.

So I guess that's why people are calling AP agent to book the trip instead since the online tool is unable to calculate the charges for *A partners.

But it's still worth the service fee we pay...:p

It's not that the other partners don't have fuel surcharges...at the moment AE agents do not calculate fuel surcharges for partner airlines unless the booking/reservation engine can generate it automatically.

The more *A partners in the booking (with no AC segments) the better the chance of having no fuel surcharge on your award ticket.

Try to avoid AC even on transborder routes..Use star carriers from there CAN/US gateway cities to overseas destinations... Wow are there ever big differences in taxes and fees..Sometimes it is less expensive to buy a ticket on AC to your Star carriers gateway city rather than flying AC on the first and last leg of your reward ticket to the star carriers gateway city.

Depending on what type of award you are doing From YUL-PHL-JFK/LGA on U.S.Air may be allowed on your reward itinerary...

Im trying to do any of the following or any other combination that works without going AC to advoid the costs. (Biz)

Now if that means I need to go via BTV then so be it.

I dont even know if these are valid or not.

I would add the US AIR segments at the beginning of your itinerary and at the end if flying via JFK...One agent will tell you a certain itinerary is valid another agent will tell you its not valid.. Some AP agents do not even know whats valid.. I would try the following : YUL-PHL-LGA/JFK-FRA-SIN-SYD-SIN-FRA-JFK/LGA-PHL-YUL.. Using US Air to LGA and SQ for the rest of the itinerary... or YUL-IAD/CLT-JFK

KIX-BKK

I booked two Aeroplan business class tickets between KIX and BKK on TG (Thai Airways) on the web. It cost me 30,000 Aeroplan points per person and initially no extra fees of any kind.

However, at KIX, I was reminded by a Thai agent that I had to pay 5,300 yen (2,650 yen x 2) KIX airport facility fee. There were no other charges of any kind.

Incidentally I flew YVR-NRT-ITM on a regular ticket (about 1,050 per person).

It is quite clear that better deals are found when and where no Canadian airport and AC flights were not involved.
