AC15 02/22 equip chg, no J seats?

AC15 02/22 equip chg, no J seats?
I am booked on AC15, and until a couple of days ago, availability was showing I9, and according to AC, there were 19 J seats available.
Now they've changed equipment from a 77W to 77L, and at the same time, J availability has vanished to J1 with obviously no I available.
Is it pure coincidence that the equipment changed and the availability up front was consumed at the same time? Seems highly unlikely, given the new eqiupment has 120 less seats. Though the number of J seats are same, I am suspicious that there were some op ups or other factor the consumed all the upfront inventory.
Looks like tons of availability going via YVR and on to HKG, but there's a substantial fare difference and of course change fee from my B class fare...
Anyone have any theories or thoughts?
