Worth changing flight to get a B767-300 instead of E175?

Need some quick advice please:

In a few weeks I'm flying YYZ-YUL on an E175 in business class, but one hour earlier there's a flight operated by a B767-300 with the Executive First Suites. It would cost me $40 to change the flight.

1) Is it worth changing?
2) Is the service the same, or would you get better food on the B767?

If I'm paying $40 just to change the type of seat on a short 1 hour flight, it's probably not worth it. But if the food was better, might consider it.

Thanks for the help.

Depending on the time of the flight (ex: 6pm?), you might have a chance of getting a warm snack. Think chicken brochette or crab cake. Definitely not a "meal". The E175 does not have ovens so no chance of hot food.

It's a morning flight.

B767-300 is at 08:00 and I'm booked on the E175 at 09:00

IMO,a short one hour flight does not warrant the $40.00 change fee.
I have been on both a/c types and find the FA service a little quicker and personal on the Embraer.

Save your $40 change fee and go have a $40 late breakfast or lunch when you arrive!

Plus, what would you do if you paid the $40, and they switched the equipment to an A321 or something similar? At least the 767-200s are gone, I've gotten that "fun" switch at the last minute.

I agree. For short flights, service is better on smaller planes. YYZ-YUL on a widebody a/c tends to have very perfunctory, rush-through-the-cabin-plunking-the-trays-down-in-front-of-everyone service.

Unless I knew that I was really going to need a quick nap in the J suite, I'd stick with the E175 too. Boarding and getting off is faster, the J seats on the E175 are just as comfortable as the 763 suites are for a day flight, and the window views are better. Select 1A, 2A or 3A and you'll have a seat that is both window and aisle. :)

And just in case you folks aren't yet sick of being reminded, don't miss the AC power outlet underneath your Embraer seat!

By the time the sleeping suits are passed out, you'll be on descent into Montreal. Save your money. ;)

Except for breakfast flights, there is no hot food in Rapidair in J. It's a choice of 2 cold plates during meal hours.

Are the food offerings in J or the pretzel offerings in Y the same for Rapidair YYZ-YOW flights as with YYZ-YUL flights?

Does it matter? Are you planning to fly YYZ-YUL-YOW because you want to show off your SE status a little more and meet the YUL concierges?

If you want to blow away $40, feel free to give it to me instead of AC. ;)

No no, give me that $40.. I'll spend it on something good in Honolulu before the crazy thanksgiving crowd descends onto the island.. :D

Sanosuke!
