AC and TAm codeshare

Does anyone know when the codeshare agreement with TAM starts? Hopefully it starts before TAM makes it announcement for STAR allegiance.

Does TAM still stand for Transportes Aereos Marilia as it used to?

Stranger I think you are right, it still does. Strong ties to its origins.

You can now book flights to GIG on aircanada.com with TAM flights between GRU and GIG. It is not a code share but it is a step in the right direction. The connection times are real crappy.

Thanks do see the flights now. So codeshare means no mileage I guess, as the Tam flights do not have an ac codeshare number.

Perhaps AC will use this ability to sell thru tix to GIG as a means of seeing whether or not it would make business sense for the GRU flight to continue onto GIG.

With the aircraft sitting idle for some 12 hours on GRU... would make sense. Not to mention I know of too many AC FA's who've been to GRU time and time again and never took the hop and visit GIG's legendary beaches.

Prodigy25, you are quite right. I never understood the plane being idle for so long on the ground. But could it be restrictions from Brazil that will not allow AC to continue onwards?
