Can I book to fare types on AC.com?

Maybe someone can help? I am intersted to know if its poss to book 2 different fares on ac.com for single return booking, as I have one SSWU cert left for 2008. Can I book say an L class one way and M on the return leg to use one of the many SWU certs I have. I recently booked a SYD-YVR-SYD and without trying I got Q class one way and H on the return-both legs were successful for upgrades which was great and fantastic crews as well, well done AC!

If anyone knows how to do this as I assume it would lower my fare it would be much appreciated.

Cheers

A few months ago I tried to book a cheap fare one way YVR-LHR and an upgradable fare the other way. It wouldn't let me do it - had to pay the upgradable fare both ways. So I tried booking 2 one way tix and couldn't get the cheap fare on a one way. Seems the AC demons have it covered.

You can do it on the phone. I am leaving tomorrow to FRA on a L departing, H returning. Not all fares are combinable, but it should work out. It's a more complex manual calculation...

I think the combinations all have to be in one class, so you could get two Tango+/Leisure fares such as Q and L, but not a Leisure and a Latitude, such as H and M. But let us know if you're successful.

That is my understanding, also. I have had success booking a Leisure combination of H and A fares. This was over a year ago when it was possible to use a combination of SWU and SSWU respectively on the route. This after waiting and watching for the lower fare classes to drop off until the H fare showed as available for one of the segments to book online.

As others have pointed out, if the fare rules allow it, yes, you can combine difference fare bases.

As it turns out, for flights to SYD you can combine just about any two AC fares to make a round trip. Combine L and J if you like.

You would have to use a travel agent or AC reservations to do this.

Thanks everyone for the info, much appreciated. I will use a TA instead of ac.com to make this fare work.

All the best from a soggy wet Sydney!

When I've tried to book by fare class, I've been told that fare class is for internal use only and they ignore me. Am I missing something?

You obviously can't book by fare class on line.
