Okay things just keep getting weirder.
I'm looking at the following flights, July 11th-17th in PE, AC34, AC878, AC6829, AC855.
When I go look for them through the aircanada website, it prices out >2k CAD in fare buckets N-N-B-N.
When I look at google flights it links to the aircanada websites, exact same flights, exact same fare buckets, but the price is <1700CAD.
what's up with that?! I can go all the way to checkout without any repricing.
in fact if you look at the fare calendar in aircanada - they're all priced >2k. on google flights, there's a variety of dates for <1700. Again, EXACT SAME dates, flights and fare buckets.

Why should that surprise you?

No? Mind elaborating? I've never seen this behaviour before, with the exact same fare buckets.
And it surprised me because it's the exact same flight numbers, dates and fare classes. Usually price differences come from different fare buckets.
All I can think of is that AC offers two different sets of fare bases for the routing, the website accessing only the more expensive one and google flights somehow getting the cheaper one. Which is REALLY dumb as anyone who books on the ac website expecting to find the best available "air canada" prices is screwed. It's not like google flights redirects to
Some obscure OTA or misattributes fare buckets, it's literally a carbon copy.

Poor IT rather than by design.
I am willing to believe that when they claim their web site offers the best fare they actually mean it. But then somehow the web site does not.
Never attribute to malice what incompetence or stupidity explains.

Does Aeroplan allow mixed class award? Their site lets me select business one direction and economy back but it always seems to charge the higher rate for both directions.
Will they price it correctly by phone?

Thank you!
If I kept the RT in the same class, would MIA-ZRH-CDG / CDG-FRA-BCN / BCN-EWR-FLL be valid routing or can I only have the open jaw if I drop the CDG-BCN segments?

Mind you, the train is possibly a better option anyway, especially if routing through FRA.

Sorry to say this, but I guess I'm glad I'm flying UA today?
The instruction is pretty clear though... "Please try after sometime"

I thought it was just the upgrade site that was broken.
Then I thought someone had somehow cancelled my EYW bookings.
Then I realized my FP booking was also not working.

I'll transfer via IST on Monday, oh boy, I see many cancelled flights already
Now I wonder if Aeroplan will let me re-route to avoid IST without $90 fee
RIP to those victims
UPDATE
on phone with Aeroplan, they read a AC waiver to change, from 6/28 to 7/5, to avoid IST airport
Date change is allowed, but other non-IST related changes aren't "free" @@ too bad I can't lump it in
http://www.aircanada.com/en/news/160628.html
so I'm changing my PRG-IST-PEK-HKG (TK) to PRG-ZRH-HKG (LX 777!)

As a result of the events in Istanbul, Air Canada has implemented a policy for customers who purchased an Air Canada ticket no later than June 28, 2016 and whose itinerary includes a flight to, from or via Istanbul Airport (IST) between June 28 and July 5, 2016.
If you are scheduled to travel during the affected time period, you may contact Air Canada Reservations to change your flight, free of charge, to another date between now and September 30, 2016, subject to availability in the cabin you originally purchased. Otherwise, any fare difference will apply.
If you purchased your ticket with Aeroplan, or Air Canada Vacations, please contact them directly.
