Was speaking to an AC Res. Agent today and he recalled the Airbuses going through the same type of teething problems some 15 years ago.
I am booked on 103 tomorrow Dep YYZ 0700 Arr YVR 0913. It was a 321 but now says it's an E90. It'll be my first trip on a 90 (few on E75's with no problems related to the metal). I'm in J and it seems like a long trip without a hot breakfast (seeing as I won't wake up until 0900, I'm not breakfasting before I fly). Is it true that I won't even get a hot cup of tea? :( :( |
..You'll be watered (hot tea available) and fed. But make a stop at the store before you board and get some snacks..
I don't think the problems and inconviences should be dismissed regarding the E's, but I've been inconvienced by every type of AC metal on most of my flights with only one ever being mechanical (door on a CRJ). AC Operations/Planning need the retrofit more than the planes. |

Yes, a Jazz flight instructor mentioned the same thing to me: Airbus had teething problems but now are very reliable. Of course, this doesn't mean that the teething problems aren't disruptive to the passengers on those flights and shouldn't be dismissed.

WOW the flight YYZ to YVR are VERY very full tomorrow... :) arrive early you might get an upgrade!

I just did YYZ-YVR on an original decor 762 and returned SEA-YYZ on an E90 in Y. The 762 was painful. The E90 was the best trip ever and everything worked and was a remarkable contrast with the 762. I had only done short trips on the E90 - the transcon is splendid. Enjoy the cold breakfast in quiet comfort in modernity and style.

I think its too bad that AC didn't install a small oven on these planes, if only for the J cabin. I've noticed that 124, the 18:00 YYC-YOW departure is now being operated by an E90 as well, and I always appreciated the hot meal on that one...

What would he upgrade to from J?
I must say I love the E90..... but i do wish it had an oven. I dont think when milton bought them he thought they would be flying YYZ-SEA..... Oh well, he didnt expect the huge increase in passengers...... or he would have bought more 319's. About right now hes wishing the 787 were coming sooner. |
Getting really PO'ed with the E190
 I have been experiencing a lot of delays on my YYC-JFK run (over the last 3 months) due to E190 mechanical problems.
The last straw was this morning in JFK. We had a chance to beat the storm coming in, but we sat at the gate for 2.5 hours trying to fix a warning light of some type. JFK and LGA were shutdown before they could fix it (we were even de-iced). Now I get to spend an unwanted weekend in New Jersey instead of at home. Maybe I will try and catch the St. Patricks day parade tomorrow.^ |
Embraere
Every Mechanical Brakedown require an Electronic Reset
|
Well I was on an Embraer yesterday with no problems!
- defying the odds and surviving . . .:D |
I'm on 2 E190s on 24 Mar. YUL-YEG followed by YEG-YVR. Never been on the E190s before - looking forward to the trip. Seat 1A on both segments ^
|
1A can bit a bit cramped due to the bulkhead if you are tall. I have much better comfort in 2A (I'm just over 6'). The single side is very nice though!
|
I'm 5'10"-5'11" so I should be OK. How much does 1A encroach on the space of 2A if 1A is completely reclined? Looking at pictures of the cabin it seems that the video screen for 1A (on the bulkhead) is smaller than screen for 2A (on the back of 1A). How much smaller is it and will it make a big difference in the enjoyment of the AVOD?

These seats do not recline much at all so it should not be a problem at all. I think the only difference in AVOD is the reach forward from row one as the bulkhead is a little further than the seatback screens in the other rows |
