I like the AC E75s that I've flown between Chicago and Toronto. The seats and IFE are good.

Does Clive have access to this site yet?

That probably explains why my flight from YEG to YYZ tonight shows as [back to] a A320 rather than the E90 that had been operating this flight for most of the winter. Will be interesting to see what it turns out to be in reality, and if it is an A320, if it will be an XM. I've found lots of aircraft changes on day-of-flight, including as I've noted before E90s for E75s, CRJs for DASH8s and A320s for A319s (likely due to larger loads on some routes).

Gee, cold weather in Canada, who'd have thought Obviously not Embraer. Temps haven't been far outside the norm. Nice to see that someone at AC finally ackonwledged the problem with these planes.

Maybe in Vancouver but here in Toronto we had the coldest February in 28 years, fifth coldest ever, and it's minus 12 here today.

That may be Toronto's coldest. But that's not cold.

One would hope that AC does not look at planes and low temperature operation by the Center of The Universe (tm) standards.

I dont hate BBD I hate taxpayers $ paying for them.

Oh and the E75 and E90 will be going in for repair jobs soon... read all about it Jetblue just got some "rentals" so they can send the plane in for a refit.
AC should announce something similar soon.

It might be hard for "others" on here to admit the planes have some issues. THey dont deal in facts

Heard on the radio today that Jetblue will be grounding its Embraer fleet to fix software glitches.

But those are one day records in one spot. Temps haven't been seen that don't occur often in Canada (not just the centre of the universe). It appears Embraer did not do sufficient cold weather testing IMHO. And the problems Montie mentions, are they different from B6's software glitches, and will AC have to deal with those to? EMB better hope the patch-ups work, or there could be a real effect on sales. I hope AC has some warranty protection on this.

It is colder at 35K + feet AGL than it ever gets on the ground in Canada.......whether flying over Brasilian airspace or the Canadian Rockies......on any day of the year. If a plane spends 4 hours at altitude where it is much colder, I doubt 4 hours parked on the ground is the problem as it relates to temps.

The line about it not being sufficiently cold weather tested IMHO is a red herring.

If the planes have issues IMHO they are not related to this. And all the E flights I have been on didn't have any problems that were equipment related.

Was speaking to an AC Res. Agent today and he recalled the Airbuses going through the same type of teething problems some 15 years ago. FWIW, I really appreciate the speed, comfort and AVOD on the E75 and E90. Just booked another flight on the E90. Interesting too, but OT, I booked a 777 from Montreal to Toronto on AC for 8 April...
