Flight Pass Calculation Errors and Missing Credits

Hi,

Just a note/warning to flight pass owners. If you buy and use flight passes (with credits) and don't really keep track of them you might want to.

I noticed a calculation error where the system docked me an extra credit. It was easy to notice for me as I usually book in pairs so an odd number of remaining credits was a red flag for me.

I called into AC IT support to note the missing credit it took some time to convince them that there was an error, eventually I got through to them and they credited the flight credit back.

With busy schedules and such it can be easy to lose track and overlook a calculation error.

At the time of booking the correct number of credits was taken off. A few weeks later I was docked the extra credit. The IT person stated that it was since I called in and made a change to the PNR (which I did). But it should not deduct another credit... go figure...

Just be aware that there might be an issue.

Cheers,

I have had credits missing at times and they re-appeared in a day or two - always due to changes or canceled flights. I watch my passes closely but haven't had any disappear permanently. It would really be annoying if one disappeared temporarily when I needed to book a flight within a few hours though... ouch.

Same experience here, I cancelled flights twice over the past year that had not been credited back. It was sorted out promptly though (a few hours).

The funny thing is I lost the credit after making a schedule change based on the M fare. I didn't cancel the flights just changed the flight to an earlier one which the agent told me was not a problem since I was on a flight pass with an M fare. I had to phone in as the earlier flight was not available on the Flight Pass Booking site as the layover was longer.
