More AC 777 tidbits?

Take the info in this thread with a grain of salt, but it seems to be from AC employees

You categorise info from AC as facts? When were the plane refurbishments going to be complete? Should I ask more questions?

How boring this place would be if we dumped all speculation.

Agree, we can't rely on what's on the AC site, so this is as reliable as we get.

It does indicate AC is taking the medium approach to its J cabins, adding a few more seats over the 763s but not that many over the current A340s. Nor is it adding a third, Premium Economy cabin on its ultra-longhauls. That rumour would be quick to establish since a different type of seat would be required to really sell this type of service.

Trust me so far AC is NOT adding any more than the 42 J seats....

We will have horrible upgrade to Asia when these planes arrive.

How so? Only the A333s and the A345s have 42J, the 763s and 343s have 30 (or 25J on some 763s)...sounds like it will be better odds to me.

unless you go with the % of Y seats to J seats

a 777 has almost 100 more seats than a 340.

Also AC will have the LOWEST # of Business/premium economy seats of 777 international planes!

Does AC say when the refurb was going to be complete? Be greatful they're at least doing it, and think with a bit more depth than whiney infant wanting their candy. Those AVOD's you'll be enjoying in a few months involve quite a bit of undertaking with the avionics, and I wouldn't mind waiting a few months knowing that TC is sure that it's installed safe. Once they get the first config down, we'll be sitting pretty.

I'm not confirming what the final configurations will be but I would suggest you first check your facts.

SQ 777 International 30J
NZ 777 28J
KL 777 35J
BA 777 (no 1st class version used on YUL and some YYZ flights) 36J

Forget tidbits about 777's let's focus on aircraft here and now. A couple days away from October and still no new refurb's flying.

BA planes:

747 In 4 class config: 14 F + 70/38J + 36/30W seats
777 In 4 class config: 14 F + 48J + 40W seats
777 In 3 class config: 36-40J + 24W seats
767 In 3 class config: 24J + 24W seats

I would thus argue that EVERY SINGLE BA plane that flies to Canada has significantly more premium seats than any AC plane.
