AC 777 - First rev flights?

I read here that YYZ-YUL (& a few Transatlanics) will likely be the routes for the initial shakedown of the first few 777's. Does anyone know if/when the date will be confirmed, or loaded into the system? I wouldn't mind booking myself on the 1st flight!

777 First Flights

Normally a new aircraft flies within the confines of North America allowing pilots to accrue hours, while keeping the aircraft close to home to work out any "bugs".

Similar to the inauguration of the 744 Combi in 1992, I would wager the first revenue flight will be Montreal/Toronto after undergoing pre-service modifications, and then operating rotations of Toronto/Vancouver & Toronto Los Angeles.

777 First Flights

I've tentatively heard that the aircraft will begin service in May, 2007. Cabin Crew training starts this fall, Pilot training starts in the New Year.

It's just a 777 not the 380. Flown the 777 many times with SQ. Now if it was the 380 I would more than likely try that flight.

do you have to bash the wants and wishes of others? I would like to ride on an AC777 asap once it enters service, and same with AC's 787 when they come. When are you planning on going to SIN just to ride the A380 from SIN-SYD???

Calm down. I don't like to bash but just put things in perspectives. Yes I will probably aim to try the 380 in Dec for the SIN-SYD-LHR flight. You should take up the challenge and try the 380 as well. ^

it's on my list. First I want to find the shortest regularly scheduled flight. I have a feeling its AirCreebec from Fort Albany to Kascheschewan (god only knows if I spelled it right). Its just under 5nm across the river in a DH8.

I've already been on the longest flight, and the fastest aircraft. Next after that will be the furthest north (scheduled), and furthest south.

Everyone needs goals.

A bit too early to pinpoint the exact date of the first revenue flight and city pair.

yyz_atc_qq, wrong continent...

Ninety seconds later, it's all over as our wheels hit gravel on the neighbouring island of Westray. Jumping out, while one lady pays Stewart for her flight, I gaze past plane spotting sheep to the sea and wished every trip could be like the world's shortest scheduled airline flight.

Yeah, I'd like to fly on a real plane as well.

It will be fun to be on AC new 777.......

but upgrades will be difficult.
Also Its going to be a HUGE expanse of Y seats with so few J seats planned.

I need to learn how to put a signature on the bottom

AC's 777 the fewest premium seats on a 777

?? ...?? What is the cabin config on these babies? I'm loving the fact that they're getting them but disappointed to learn they'll be in a lower J setup.

To me, the 773 ER is the nicest looking ride out there ... close 2nds go to 744 and MD11. It has a nice combo of awesome power and beauty. The 773 even distinguishes itself from the 772 IMO. Saw an Emirates one last year @ FCO - awesome! There was a great artile about the 773ER (EVA air) in ailrliner world a few months ago - It clearly distinguishes itself (for the better) from the 772. I would assume the 772LRs will have a larger portion of J seats and what a perfect aircraft for YYZ - Asia! Good work AC.
