OT/Harmony Blinks

It would appear Harmony has postponed the YYC-YVR route for a month, and will try it with some F100's.

Anyone think of any airline that's ever made money with an F100?

Garbage, at any price.

Planes are cheap. Flying them is expensive.

;)

well if it is true they are probably getting the F100s from Canadian North as they are expecting theirs pretty quick.

tcook052 Apr 20, 2006 11:52 am

Maybe he got it from Harmony computers.

or maybe the infamous public website. :D

actually if you look on their website it shows F-100 as the equipment.

I've been a Harmony supporter for the last two years. But this time, what are they doing?

F100 YVR-YYC, this seems like the right sized aircraft, but cost is up the roof! Maybe it's a transitionary aircraft before they receive their new Boeing or Embraer crafts?

Also look at their YVR-YYZ-YVR schedule. They loaded a 11pm YYZ-YVR flight, which gets in at 105am. I flew on this flight twice three years ago when they first started up and the loads were horrible given the bad departure time.

I really wonder what they're thinking at HQ.

without starting a CASM debate or whatever aconrym you want. Why would
they cost so much to operate? They are not really old planes. Not as bad as the F28's anyways.

For this plan to work, the 5T (Cdn North) schedule would have to be dramatically altered. The F100s are committed to former F28 routes and doing Syncrude charters on YEG-YMM.

As to the choice of aircraft, perrhaps the beaner could enlight this little community about the cost per hour for F100 vs 737 vs CRJ. Need more information about the cost make up to determine whether the F100 at Harmony is right or not.

Fuel and maintenance pigs. If you want to know where they've been on the ramp, look for the oil stains. They'll be below the engines.

There is no acquisition / lease price that makes these an economically viable aircraft.

:td:

Show me how the F100 fleet at either is profitable.

F100's are the standing joke in the industry.

Even the guys at AA try to steer you away from them...."trust us, you don't want them"........

This is a really dumb move on Harmony's part.....

They say the same things about the JT8-D on the 737-200s. If it's not leaking, it must be out of oil...

Why didn't you start this in the Westjet section instead of here?

tracon Apr 20, 2006 1:46 pm

Schedule page shows 4 flights/day with a preamble about the 757.
The booking page shows 4 flights/day with F100 for equipment.

Question again, do you have any reliable (or unreliable) cost per hour figures for the F100 compared to other narrowbody aircraft??? Enquiring minds would like to know.

Absolutely specifically, could you give me operating cost per hour (exclude ownership) for the F100 vs BAE/Avro 146 vs 736 vs A318 vs CR9? Maybe an audit is in order. ;)
