My wife also received ones recently with no security features, as part of her late 2005 E Qualification. I don't think lounge agents will care too much since they are transferrable! (we don't need them as Elites!)

I received the following reply from AC:

Thank you for your email.

All lounge agents are advised to accept any type of 2005 one-time guest pass (with security features or not) until February 28, 2006.

I don't notice any features on the NEW passes (valid 28 February 2007), other than the slightly faded paint of the AC logo in the middle centre
