OT: Gotham Steakhouse in YVR

I have guests from Japan coming shortly. They want to have some excellent steak. Has anyone been to Gotham Steak in YVR recently? It is highly rated locally.

I have been to Morton's and while this is an option I have not yet been to Gotham.

Any insight is much appreciated.

P.S. I wasn't sure if this was more appropriate in the AC forum or DiningBuzz... I have chosen the former. Mod please move if DiningBuzz was the better choice. Thank you.

Gotham

Very good high end service and better steaks then Morton's.

I find Morton's to be too much in cost, portions and attitude. gotham would be my choice!

This is a slightly useless response to the post but isn't Gotham owned by Bryan Adams?

Whether or not this is an influencing factor on eating there I do not know?

I believe the owner of Gotham also owns Hy's and The Keg chain. Bryan Adams may be a financial backer but then one would expect that if that were the case it would be more high profile.

I am supposing that they are Japanese nationals..........I would worry about the portions being too big. Go for the place that serves the highest quality beef. Order side orders (not one each) and let them share.....There has also been a boom with caeser salad and garlic toast here of late too........

If they are stodgy salarymen just drop them off at the Cecil hotel !

QSG, they are very seasoned international travellers so I am not too worried. Portion sizes will be challenging for all of us, not just the guests!! However, since they are gourmands I am after the best quality steaks......

Thanks for all the input everyone!!

This is the number one place our clients want to see when they come to Vancouver.

'Course they're all sailors.
