Now Elite, Was Basic

Hi everyone,

After earning my 50th status flight segment on Thursday, aeroplan.com now indicates that my status is: Aeroplan Elite (I was basic at the start of 2005). Obviously this is very exciting, but it has raised two questions:

1) Do I now have Elite benefits for the remainder of 2005 and throughout 2006?
2) Will I receive a new 2005 Aeroplan membership card or will I only receive a new one when then 2006 kits are set out?

Thanks!
-Nasta.

1) YES

2) You will receive a new 2005 Aeroplan membership card indicating your new status. Also, you will receive Elite Package 1 automatically. Congrats.

Ellite Experience I contains:

Membership card
2 luggage tags
4 North American upgrades
4 Systemwide upgrades
2 MLL/Arrivals Lounge passes
1 10% Duty Free voucher
2500 Status Mile bonus

You'll receive this package in a couple of weeks, depending upon where you live, then at the end of the year get to select a more appropriate and likely beneficial Experience for 2006/7.

so will I get the status bonus when I cross the 35K line in October ? if that is the case, I may as well try and hit 45K and hopefully get a couple more SSWU for the 2006 year

Congrats as well! Now instead of longingly looking at Elite, you can do the same for SE.
