I'll add my opinions and supplemental blurbs:

DEN: Two lounges, East and West, both pretty much identical. Nothing special except for ok views of the outside.

ORD: Four lounges, three in T1 (two in Concourse B, one in Councourse C) and one in T2 (next to gate F3 across from Chili's). Nothing to write home about.

SFO: One of the better RCC's... somewhat spacious (especially the entrance) and a slightly better assortment of food, IIRC.

HNL: Closes between 5pm and just the start of the redeyes, IIRC. Smells like mildew. Again, nothing to write home about. Ok views of the outside.

Overall, don't expect anything like the MLLs. The RCC's are pretty crappy.

CO's newest Pres Club in IAH is as good as it gets for North American lounges. I was in the QF lounge in HNL about 7 years ago and it was amazing as well. Sat and watched ESPN with Ben Stiller and his fiancee. I was heading home from SYD, they were heading to SYD for their honeymoon. They were flying QF 4 (HNL - SYD) on a 742 and the chick (she's from the Brady bunch movie, I think) was whining to the QF support the entire time. Ben is a very small man, but nice! The CP lounge there was brutal.

No TV Room in US T2 MLL

The small TV room in the back of US bound T2 MLL is now closed. Too bad as this was always a good place to get away from the crowds out front who tend not to venture back that far.

Speaking of YYZ T2 MLL...

Have there been recent improvements on the food (or lack thereof)?

It's been awhile since I've been in the T2 MLL but I will be heading to BOS next weekend. Having been in the T1 MLL quite often in the last couple of months, seeing the addition of salad, wraps, and ice cream is just fantastic (thanks John Ring)!
Same goes for YUL Dom MLL but when I was there a couple of weeks ago, the wraps just had the cold cuts in them and no cheese/ham/lettuce like the YYZ T1 MLL.. hopefully it was just a fluke.

(sorry if this has been asked in another thread between July 26 and today... I did a FT search using the keywords "MLL", "Food", and "YYZ" but nothing relating to this came up...)

Does anyone know if the YYC transborder lounge will ever be re-opened? It was an old DL Crown Room, I believe, before AC took it over and then closed it ~two years ago?

Also, the CDG lounge had been closed for a time, but now appears to be re-opened? How is it?

Does anyone find it odd that AC has their own lounge in CDG, but not HKG or NRT, for example? Where would you like to (realistically) see a new MLL?

I believe that it was the YYC Airport Authority that would not renew the lease of the Trans-Border lounge. They wanted the space and isn't that where the Tim Hortons is now?.

I quite like the CDG MLL in the T2A satellite; very nice continental breakfast spread; a few windows would make the place much nicer !

This lounge was indeed closed for the period when AC's CDG ops were moved over to T1 (June 2004-January 2005); the replacement lounges provided by ADP didn't come close !

Not sure why AC doesn't have its own lounges at HKG or NRT, but I think a MLL is justified in CDG: daily flights to YUL (871) and YYZ (881) year-long with lots of J pax and status members flying on business and additional seasonal service to both those cities (883 and 885) making for 4 flights in the summer.

Pastries, cereal and fruit at breakfast. Pepper havarti and marble cheese with Melba Toast in the PM. No Soup or Ice Cream as of 2 days ago. Face it T2-MLL, is just basic training for flying in RJ's :D

maybe it's the rent at those airports. From what i've read about the HKAA, they're a bunch of tight-fisted money grubbers that have jacked up the rates on everything from landing fees to concession rents.

NRT sounds pretty expensive to run a lounge that would never be able to grow to the expectations of a traveller since AC has only two feeder routes into it. Much better to sponge off of a partner who has a large network that warrants a top-quality lounge... UA hubs something like 10-12 routes into NRT daily?

I'd rather see the airlines invest in Star Alliance lounges... you could make them larger with more amenities, given the pooled capital and shared expense of operating them.

Just to pitch in with my opinion here - I've used seven of the MLL's - old and new at LHR & YYZ T1, YYC, YWG and YUL dom/intl.

YYC and YWG were great because they actually felt kind of canadian. The others are somewhat generic and could be anywhere/belong to anyone.

So...

1. YWG
1. YYC
3. new LHR
4. YYZ
5. old LHR (only 'cos it was quiet)
6. old YYZ
7. YUL ('cos it was sooo busy we couldn't get a seat!)

If you want the real Canadian experience you have to go the YQB. There's nobody around and the bar is always open :D

Hey don't knock it Doc ! They've recently given us an actual live attendant in the lounge now (someone from Sodexho) ! Maybe the bar was a little too open ! :D

P.S. If you have status, when checking in, always remember to ask for the day's type-in code for the MLL door; the AC agents at check-in don't always remember to give it to you.

Ok, so therefore no change whatsoever.
Why is it that the TB MLLs suck when it comes to food?
