Priority Baggage

Has anyone else noticed that priority bags (especially on United Airlines flights) are not coming off of planes ahead of other checked bags... I have experienced several flights of late in the US when the priority tag seemed like nothing more than a marketing gimmick?

Which airports, what metal? AC metal? UA metal? Any metal? I haven't had problems as of late with transborder flights or domestic UA flights... my issues have been with *G flights into airports like YYZ.

Welcome to FT!

YVR-domestic was a zoo last night with about 3 flights coming off the same conveyor belt. All the baggage was mixed. I thought that only happened in YUL!

And, yes, welcome to FT. ^

It happens in YOW all the time.

Some expansion of that airport...

My favorite airport for luggage retrieval....

AC only uses one carrousel and at times two or three flights are posted for luggage...

Note to self: Only use carry-on at YOW

Well, if one must say something decent about YOW, then at least the new carousels are slightly larger than the old ones. But only slightly.

I am still so surprised they didn't build a third or fourth one and I don't understand why they relegate all AC flights to the one and all other flights to the other. Surely this is not an efficient way to use existing equipment.

But then again, what the hell do I know?...

I've always liked YWG's solution, mind you geography has done the ops planners a favour.

...plus the fact that AC ops are at one end of the terminal and the others are at the opposite end.

Actually, I don't think YOW is that bad. Mind you, I always arrive late at night so I have no idea how the day is.

One big ^ (and probably the only one) of the YOW expansion is the larger security check capacity. At least I don't have to wait 30-45 minutes any more on a Friday afternoon.

I rarely check luggage with AC, but when I do I ask them not to put a Priority Tag on it, as it seems to ensure that it comes off last. I am not kidding!

During the YVR DO, John Ring did say that YYZ was a focus.

Now we need GTAA and AC to work together to give us a priority security line

English being my second language, I'm assuming this is an oxymoron right?

Is this your last hope of seeing GTAA and AC work together?
