Mozzarella - do you work for a small or a large company?
I work for a small company which has strict travel policies.
However, after discussion they usually are flexible when it comes to travel when my comfort is at stake. It's cheaper than a major raise, and when I'm happy I'm more productive
Priority check-in and other privileges save me 2 hours (minimum) per flight, and my increased productivity (due to not waiting) makes my status valuable to my company.
Just sell it in the right way and hopefully you will be ok.
Otherwise, if you want to work for an up-and-coming and promising high-tech company with lots of opportunity to travel, give me a PM I may be only 24 but the experience I have gained is worth the loss of youngster partying!

Thanks to all the posters for the great advice. ^
My travel policy is pretty strict but I will approach my employer and check about paying the difference to get fun (which even on certain YYZ-YVR flights is only $15). Altenatively, book fun where Tango is sold out. To me, its not so much the distance but rather getting the status segments as that's how I'll hit Elite this year (frequent trips to YUL helps!).
