Westjet Food Service. Yay or Nay

I am flying YVR - YYZ in March on Westjet. It's an early morning departure (7am). Should I give the on-board food service a try, or should I just pick something up in the airport before departure. Is anything going to be open at that time of morning?

What do Westjet travellers recommend I do in order to keep my stomach full during the flight?

I would say it's probably best to bring along your own food, as you can have exactly what you want. Not to say that WestJet's food is bad (it's just fine). However, considering the selections and the slight price difference you have on the ground vs. in the air, I'd go with 'bring your own.' YVR airport has a vast array of food to buy, even at 6am and there even a 7-11 on level 1 of the domestic terminal, should you need a Slurpee at that hour.

Talking

Actually, we are in the AC forum, and yes I'd love to promote AC to all the disillusioned flyers. Come on board and you will see the difference. ^

I would recommend a hearty fill of Tim Horton's donuts, coffee, and bagels.

Living in SEA, I miss Timmys!

Oh yeah, and fly AC.

FLYWESTJET, ITS THE ONLY WAY TO KEEP AIRCANADA HONEST AND COMPETITIVE.

Clive Beddoe: "Air Canada matches us on every route, on every flight, on every day of the year". Therefore no Westjet, no one way ticketing, no cheap tango type fares, no need to improve service standards.

YVR has a few shops for you to buy food at: Subway, Timmys, 7-11, etc. but the ultimate choice is up to you. Food on Westjet is up to $5 I think and there are pringles and other snacks for $2.

I would not count on any food service. On two recent yyc/yyz flights, they ran out about half way thru the plane. I estimate they only got to 40-50 people.
Bring your own food to be safe.

Actually, this is typical of threads on AC -- they just go absolutely everywhere and there is a lot of joshing around.

(And no, I'm not going to tell you to fly AC, but just for kicks, I am going to tell you to NOT fly WS or SG. )
