AP Technical Support

I realize the economics are poor but I decided to clean out the balance of my AP account with car rental certs for an upcoming trip (on WS). So I ran quickly through the online process, pressed the submit button and received an error message. I tried several times and finally phoned the number provided for "technical assistance". The first agent informed me that I must phone the rental company first and obtain a reference number. I pointed out that the web site contains no such instruction and there is no place in the form to insert a reference number. Her response was to go back to the beginning and say the same thing repeatedly until I gave up.

A second call and a new agent said she had checked my file and I had inserted a question mark after my secret question and, if I removed it, the process would work. However, when I tried to alter my profile, AP refused to accept the changes.

A third call, back to agent one, and her advice was now to delete all cookies. "Do you what a cookie is?" I explained that I had no AC or AP cookies in my system (and, of course, then realized what the problem was). Agent one rambled on about how cookies work but never once did she suggest that I check to see if AC/AP cookies were blocked. As soon as I could politely get away, I unblocked AP and it worked but I did not bother to enlighten AP's agents.
