The grievances continue
From the CAW website:
Aeroplan’s “Your Style Rewards”
Aeroplan has retained the services of Maritz, a loyalty marketing organization, to negotiate with suppliers to provide Aeroplan members with experiences other than travel, which are “imagination defying, spirit awakening and soul stirring.”
During the November ’03 UMHQ, Caroline Hagan, General Manager of Call Centres advised the CAW that it was expanding the Aeroplan product and flex pricing. New ideas for redemption were being tested such as the Future Shop products. It was to target the non-traveller. The redemption was to be done on the website and not through an agent.
However, we now know that Maritz has agents in an outside call center who are able to redeem Aeroplan miles from the member’s account to purchase the non-airline reward. A policy grievance has been filed and heard. We believe this is our work under the provisions of the collective agreement.
