H on SFO-YYZ-YOW is Tango Plus - can only be upgraded with SSWU.

Just to needlessly reinforce what Andrew Yiu said, the last time I checked SFO to YYZ to YOW was still within the domestic/transborder range...

Yeah, I saw the third post by Andrew on the thread and missed that it was for "other destinations".

Oh well.

Looking for a YUL-FRA flight on Aug 15 to upgrade myself and a friend (preferably using SWU). On KVS, I found:

AC 874 YUL 17:15 FRA 06:30 +1 763 0 J9 C2 Y9 M9 B9 H9 V9 Q9 L9 I2
AC 834 YUL 19:40 FRA 08:55 +1 763 0 J9 C0 Y9 M9 B9 H9 V9 Q9 L9 I0

Does this mean there is no use in purchasing M fare on the later flight since I0 and I wont be able to upgrade in advance?

You can only be confirmed on AC874 - if you choose 834, you will be waitlisted.

Thanks Andrew! I was told Tuesdays are best for upgrade availability but I guess I will wait a little longer to finalize the dates (I can fly Sundays or Tuesdays to connect to JED on LH) .. oh if not for the eagerness to book months in advance

Thats the general conclusion that I have come to. Just looking at YVR - PVG for this upcoming week, and tuesday still has I space, meanwhile J is almost zero for wednesday.

BlondeBomber's Star Cross Earning Chart

is a place to start (shows earning across programs on most Star carriers in most Star ff programs). If you see any discrepancies or anything that needs updating, let me know . . .

I am on a RTW ticket YUL - LAX on AC booked in H class as per RTW rules. My understanding is that SWU will be enough to upgrade as the SWU updated rules say:

Toutes les autres destinations Y, M En tout temps
B, H Maximum 4 jours

Am I right?

You will need to use a SSWU as you're flying between Canada & Continental USA and a SWU is only good for Y/M/U in such case. (unless you're connecting from an international AC flight, then a SWU would cover you from origin to destination in H cls)

No miles in C class?!!

I was shocked 6 weeks after sending in the ticket and boarding pass for an AC operated flight ZRH-YYZ in C class FEB7 to have them all sent back to me stating that because the ticket was purchased as a LX codeshare before APR1 I am not entitled to any miles!

The Swiss agent confirmed to me when buying the ticket (JED-ZRH-YYZ-YOW) that they were partners with *A (which I later learned was a mistake as they were only with miles and more at the time). Still, my belief was that I would get credit for the ZRH-YYZ portion on AC metal..

please inform me who to contact about this if the AE agent is in the wrong. thanx.

AE agent is correct - LX coded flight numbers would not earn you any miles prior to them joining Star Alliance (Apr 1, 2006).

Is there any way to see Z class availability online? It's not shown by the KVS tool.
