When do I arrive ??

I am getting conflicting answers, so I am appealing to the experts:

If I leave YVR on Feb 26 AC 7, do I arrive in HKG on Feb 27th (my answer) or Feb 28th (AC answer)?

Thanks

The correct answer is departure date +2 so in your case Feb 28. Once you cross the dateline going West you lose a day. Coming back East bound you gain it back. So on the return, presuming you go east and not RTW, you'll arrive back the same day you left HKG. If you go West and travel continuously, you can make it back in Departure +1. No fun but doable.

AC007 arrives the next day (Feb 27).

AC015 arrives 2 days later (Feb 28).

You're right; AC was wrong.

That is assuming you're leaving from YYZ. If you leave from YVR; both AC007 and AC015 arrive one day later (Feb 27) since AC015 leaves just after midnight YVR time.

If you depart on Feb 26 from YVR, you'll arrive in HKG on Feb 27.
On the return HKG-YVR, you should arrive on the same day.

. . . although you should be at YVR before midnight for AC15 so it will be +2 in your head!

You guys are making this all way too complicated.

The real answer is "shortly after the plane lands."

Thanks for the help - I am trying to plan this trip for my parents and the dateline is really screwing me up.

The joys of travel!
