What happens to AE award tickets on SAS after SAS leaves Star Alliance?
shortly after the booking window opened, i booked an award ticket from Canada to LHR on AC and onwards to ARN on SAS Connect for the end of this year. I was aware at the time of booking that SAS would be leaving Star Alliance and was surprised to see the availability of SAS flights throughout the calendar.
What is likely to happen to those bookings? Will SAS still honor them or will AE have to change them?
It seems that AC's flights to ARN are seasonal and end late september.

I would hope that AE "bought" them like any other TA, and SAS honoring them before or after 1wk/3days/14hrs (or whatever) will be subject to the local consideration of appropriate rescheduling rules.
They are already able to f you over a week in advance anywhere; guaranteed to the minute sched isn't a thing for anyone.

thanks for the info. SAS Connect doesn't even do J. They don't even do the Euro-J thing with economy seats and nobody in the middle. you're squeezed in there just like Y. the first few rows have a tiny bit more leg room but are the same as economy. it was an awards ticket and very hard to find J into ARN these days.

They are pretty good at blocking middle seats for EB gold and diamond even when not in SAS Plus. It's pretty rare that I have someone next to me.

I found very easy to use my Aeroplan points to go to ARN from CPH, I normally fly AC 828 to CPH then connecting to ARN, flying this route all the time, never running into issues which could not find a redemption seat

It’s not just SAS Connect (which is the Irish flagged subsidiary), but all SAS short haul, including SAS “mainline”, SAS Link and flights operated by CityJet and Xly for SAS.
SAS Plus is marketed as a Premium Economy product and long haul J will book into it for the short haul legs.
