OK, we have a confirmed date for the YOW DO: Saturday, March 2
Reservation is 6PM @ Metropolitain Brasserie, 700 Sussex
(kitty-corner from the Westin / Rideau Centre, across the street from the Fairmont)
This event is getting a higher-than-usual amount of interest from new people, which is perfectly fine, ALL ARE WELCOME.
If you're new, please come join us, we're nice people. We'll sit and nerd out on topics both related and unrelated to airlines, you don't need to be an expert on anything to join.
That said, this is a social gathering of friends, not a seminar or convention, so there are no speakers or presentations or anything like that, it's just a pub night with people who all fly a lot. We won't have insane tips and tricks to share, we can't help you get sign-up bonuses for your Amex, we're just nerds who like to hang out.
Please sign up below in whichever category best describes your likelihood of attendance, to ensure that the reservation is correct. If I don't know you're coming, neither will the restaurant, and while surprise guests are welcome, I'd hate to see anyone have nowhere to sit.
Confirmed
Waitlisted (trying to get there but can't confirm yet):
Standby (unlikely but not impossible):

YOW DO - March 2nd
OUR REVISED DATE IS SATURDAY, MARCH 2, AS IT SOUNDS LIKE THAT DATE IS AVAILABLE TO MANY MORE PEOPLE.
It's Ottawa, it's March, it's equally possible it'll be +7 or -17. There's lots of good food and drink to be had, and I'm realizing that as I approach my 8-year anniversary living in this town, I've still never been to the Canadian Aviation and Space Museum that's ~10 minutes from downtown.
I'd like to set this up, if people are interested, and I'm happy to help organize. I'll find a pub downtown that'll take us, would be nice to have an idea of numbers, so I'll set up a wiki, please list yourself in the category you feel is appropriate.

Alas I will be in Australia so I will have to send my regrets for that date.
If you end up doing the Aviation and Space museum let me know - my retired dad volunteers as a guide there (he flew several of the planes they have on display in his RCAF career) so I can see if I can get you a special tour ;-)

I am YOW-based and very interested, however I am like ly to be about as far away from YOW as one can possibly be on that date: WLG (or in transit to there).

I was going to say I was in for the 16th, but I guess maybe there will be no Do to go to.
