Will this flight feature the upgraded menu?
I'm guessing it's because YEG doesn't normally do signature class catering so that's reflected in what is offered.

Actually quite good.

Chicken Parmigiana, haddock, veal or mushroom risotto.

It was the same menu as on the YYC-YYZ Signature Service flights today if you want to see the full menu. I believe it may have been return catered from YYZ.

Had the same menu on two west bound flights yesterday, so I had both mains.

The chicken was good. The pasta was OK, but a warning. What is missing from the description was the copious amount of olives! If you are not a fan (like me) than you should avoid! I was thinking it may have been mis-catered, but the SD thought this was the normal dish.

I guess the only thing worse than both menu items saying "olives" is one of them incorrectly not saying "olives".

Has something changed in the snack basket for 2024?

I just got off 1041 (DEN) and there was no basket given out after the main meal. Is this new or just an FA who forgot?

On short haul evening flights, is AC still serving a plated snack instead of the snack basket? (I've got a 9pm departure from YYZ, <2 hour flight)

I had a 18:30 flight from YYZ to YUL and got a plated meal.

I'm not sure what the cutoff is to switch to the snack basket, but it's probably around 2100.

It's likely 2100. A 2055 flight on the same route received a plated snack back in the summer, the 2115 departure had the snack basket (Miss Vickies, Lindt, KitKat, MadeGood, maybe something else as well).

I'm quite our resident SD has posted about that somewhere in this thread before and that a quick search of this thread would deliver a definitive answer.

Found the post from the resident SD - https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/35026586-post858.html (might be worth putting that into your wiki type posts at the beginning)

I guess AC's inconsistency continues to shine since my family members received a plated snack on the exact same route (and it turns out the flight time was the same, a schedule change changed the flight time in advance from 2055 to 2115, identical to my flight)

YYZ-YVR
AC125

Boeing 777-300ER
Meal: dinner

Menu

Appetizer

Main - chicken, it wasn't terrible, but I didn't like the flavor

Dessert - cake and cheese

Overall flight was fine, attendants were attentive, although in between meals, a few FA were talking loudly in Chinese in the galley (I was seated in 9K). Upon arrival, police was at the gate and wanted to question or detain a passenger which held things up for 5-10min.

But the flight departed and arrived on-time. This makes 1 out of 3 of my AC 2024 flights with an on-time arrival.
