For next week's 3-night stay in downtown Vancouver:
Le Soleil - $485 on Expedia, or $494 through this deal with 2,565 bonus points.
Fairmont - $1,217 through this deal with 6,084 bonus points.
I fished around with some dates, and the lowest price I could find that earns 20,000 bonus points, was $4,397 for a full week at Shangri-La.
The good news is, if you want to spend a thousand bucks a night at Shangri-La for a week straight, you can pick up 34,000 bonus points.

20,000 points for a three-night stay is pretty good. Of course, it depends on the rate - if the AC rate is more expensive than the rate through the hotel, it may be a wash.
Hotels booked through AC also usually are treated the same as those booked through an OTA for loyalty stuff, so that could be a drawback.
I tried to see what was available and what the rates were like, but of course...

I couldn't find any hotel offering that - and as you saw above, even the most expensive properties participating didn't come remotely close.
Honestly, $50 worth of points on a $500 stay isn't a bad deal at all, and if they'd framed it that way I honestly might have moved down the block for it, but when "up to 20,000 points for a three-night stay" is only *actually* available if you book the Imperial Penthouse Crunchwrap Supreme, it feels like a bait-and-switch.

Plus, until July 7, 2021, Aeroplan members can earn up to 20,000 bonus points, when booking in cash or points, with select downtown Vancouver hotels for stays between June 21, 2021 and December 15, 2021. This is in addition to the standard points accumulated on a new eligible booking.
Stay at these eligible downtown Vancouver hotels to earn up to 20,000 bonus Aeroplan points:
- 1 night = earn 5,000 bonus Aeroplan points
- 2 nights = earn 10,000 bonus Aeroplan points
- 3+ nights = earn 20,000 bonus Aeroplan points

Are we sure about how this works? The offer says "up to 20,000 bonus points" and then shows a table that clearly states a 3 consecutive night stay = earn 20,000 bonus points. It doesn't say that only 1 or 2 suites at 1 of the hotels listed in the offer earn the 20,000 points and every other booking earns less.
So are these 20,000 bonus points in additional to the points indicated on the booking page? When you search for a room you see "earn xxx points" status bonus included. But this isn't a status bonus offer.

Points to be earned upon travel 2,365 Points
I got burned by similar language on the Black Friday event, and it's frustrating that this is even unclear enough to require any discussion.

That's the way I read the T&C as well, but every step of the booking process says very clearly "Points to be earned: 2,365 Points, status bonus included".

And here's me, having just spent three nights at the Wedgewood before this promo was announced. Oh well, it was still a nice Plan C getaway.

I currently have an excellent rate at a YVR hotel for a 3 night stay. What is the maximum premium I should pay to make this offer worthwhile? I’m thinking $300. I’m very low on AE miles even though I have no immediate need for them. TIA
