Cancelling outbound to Hawaii only - possible?
So we bought 3 return tickets to Maui on one record for Nov and used a 25% off code. Now, with all our trips until Nov pretty much off we want to add a week and start on the Big Island. AC doesn’t fly to Kona in Nov. These are 2 one way fares combined as a return. Is there a way for AC to
a) charge a change fee and just remove the outbound and create a credit file for that portion so we can keep the return as booked? (We would book UA to Kona)
Or
b) what happens if we just moved the outbound to a week earlier with Maui as our destination - would we lose the 25% off code on the whole booking and be starting over with new fares and no voucher?

I personally would bet that they wouldn't let you cancel just the outbound. But it never hurts to try. They won't make any COVID-19 related accommodations for tickets out that far. And there's no other justification that you could use to get out of the change fees. But if you wait till closer-to, then you there might possibly still be some COVID19 restrictions that would allow you to cancel the trip and rebook as you like.

The tickets are Flex so the fee is only $25 this far out - not worried about the fee more the mechanics involved with credits and the voucher if they can’t just cut out the outbound....
