What is the simplest way to book multi-segment flights on AC?

Trying to book flights from YYT-YQB for January 2nd (returning January 5th). I would like to fly up via YYZ and YUL with the same routing coming back. Google Flights is the simplest way to get reasonably timed flights when doing a segment run, but how do I go about booking this so that they marry the flights together? I don't want to end up paying for a multi-city ticket!

Booking it into a flex fare is the issue, as the AC site usually glitches out when you try to veer away from basic.

I also neglected to mention that I have to get into YQB by around noon, and I have to leave late in the afternoon on the 5th.

If you provide me a link to the itinerary you want on GF, I can give you a link to book it in Flex on AC.

So for an update, YYT-YYZ-YUL-YQB isn't a valid routing for the fare, meaning this has to be a multi-city (and paid as such) to book it.

Generally, what is the right way?

Can you take all the hops allowed on a fare by calling in when booking?

I always assumed that you could go on GF and find a multi-city flight, call into AC, and they would marry the flights together so that you paid almost no difference in fare versus direct.

Lots of fare rules and restrictions apply evidently!

They do and it's not always as easy as you assumed. Happy cow has helped. ^

@canadiancow always knows exactly what to do in finding these sorts of itineraries! A wealth of knowledge in this area for sure.

I can piece together the rules ... the routing rules, at least ..

Its just actually booking a flight, say, 6 segments from ORD to YVR that I'm not sure how to do.

Sometimes you can force it on AC.com. Other times you can call it in.

You can also use a travel agent for something like this.

This also involves paying at least $50 for the service

Roll eyes aren’t necessary, I was just pointing out that an old fashioned travel agency can do this type of thing. I don’t recall a statement up thread that free service was a requirement. In your initial post you asked for simple, not free.

Besides, TA fees vary. My credit card comes with free travel agent services. I made numerous segment runs last year using their services and they worked out great. Plus, if you want to get a bunch of extra segments, someone might feel a $50 is worth it. I paid a service fee a few years ago to get 5 segments where I’d normally get 2 - for me it was worth it as I avoided an extra ticket.
