"Guaranteed Reservations in Economy Class" privilege - E75K/SE100K
Hi there
Does anyone know if one can use a latitude flight pass for the "Guaranteed Reservations in Economy Class" privilege?
Guaranteed Reservations in Economy Class
When a flight is booked to capacity, simply reserve a seat in Economy Class on flights operated by Air Canada and Air Canada Express, with the purchase of a full-fare ticket (booking class Y) at least 6 hours prior to departure. This also applies to one travel companion who must be on the same reservation. This does not apply to Flight Pass reservations, or on Air Canada flights numbered AC1600 to AC1799.

The paragraph you quote specifically excludes flight pass reservations. So the letter of the offer says no..
But I don't think I've ever[1] seen a flight with Y0.
[1] 🎵 hardly ever. 🎵

"This" is a status perk for booking Y0 flights.
It applies to J9Y0.
And J0Y1 is already way overbooked.
So I suspect you want to talk about overbooking in general.
But this is just like IKK. Most people can overbook a little. E75K+ can overbook way more.

Only if you think the universal practice of load factor optimization via strategic overselling is fraud. No reason why AC should not give better customers confirmed access to technically overbooked flights; there are hotel chains, too, that give elite customers confirmed rooms at properties that are technically sold out. If you are going to IDB / walk / otherwise inconvenience a customer, you are better off doing it to a lower-value customer.

Not fraud.
Also, I've used this perk once as SE and it saved my bacon, so to speak.
How Dare I! How Dare I! (I can already feel the chubby fingers waving at me!)
In general, this SE (and now including E75K since Altitude started) perk has been alive and well since before many of you here even started traveling - at least 15 years now.

As others have commented, it's not fraud.
I've used this exactly once and it saved my bacon for a business meeting. It was super expensive (possibly because it was the last flight of the day and they had to bump somebody), but at least it got me where I needed to be on time. The SE Rez folks made it super easy too.

I've definitely had flights where I'd have taken $800 to fly in later (and have relatives who got this, WS fwiw years ago), but I've never been offered that much, and $150 (US) for VDB hasn't cut it on the flights where it has been offered.

LOL I'm pretty sure @RangerNS was kidding.
Y0 happens a lot, daily, on many, many routes.
Two months in advance up to T-55 minutes! OINK

How is guaranteed space a perk? Just another part of volume discount in a competitive marketplace.
2nd, AC never guarantees a seat as Tariff says best efforts only, and travelers explicitly agree if AC cannot accommodate then at AC option they can refund fare, subject to new passenger rights payment.
have only used this once, long ago, and I have the same access at IHG hotels as Spire Ambassador if I need a room somewhere they will make it happen - which have used few times.

That's all that matters.
