For one belt we require a minimum of five screeners. One for door, one for ETD, one for magnetometer and two on x-ray/bag-check. We can open a second lane with eight people. The supervisor, if s/he is on the point, is not counted in this total because s/he doesn't do screening work. Edit: I should also note that training can make it look like we have inflated numbers. The new training regime is taking forever to implement properly so we have a lot of partially trained screeners who still need a lot of hand-holding. Yep. Tweezers and they were very concerned about my CDs batter charger (hold 2 AAs length-wise). YYJ appears to either operate by their own version of the rules and just has out-dated rules. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

I had spare batteries taken in ACA last week. Is it usually to take batteries or was I the victim of a Mexican Security officer needing a pair of AA's?

<font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Originally posted by PointWeasel: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif What could one do with spare AA batteries? Honestly, many times these things are not done in the interest of safety but more in the spirit of "don't talk back to me because I can make you miss your flight or worse, get in real trouble."</font> |
A point of advise for those of you out there who smoke and take Nicorette Gum (in a foil rapper) on board to control the cravings while in flight.
When setting off the walk through detector at security, don't say...Oh it must be the GUM in my back pocket!!!!!! |
