A "fog of uncertainty" continues to surround WestJet Airlines Ltd. (WJA-TSX), said Desjardins Securities analyst Nadi Tadros, who expects the airline industry to encounter turbulence for the rest of this year. The analyst said that beyond the temporary problems of SARS, the war in Iraq and fears of terrorism, the industry must grapple with the more long-term issues surrounding oversupply of capacity and a flood of discount seats. Mr. Tadros warned that WestJet will likely report weak financial results for the second fiscal quarter compared with the same period last year.
