I agree, nothing operationally wrong with them selling a R fare. I was just wondering, if this was truly promotional/intentional, why code it as R in the first place then tell people it will credit as P but no SSL access because it's still a R fare. Unless we're seeing the unbundling of business class fares.

Should I anticipate problems getting P class credit for these flights to a non AC account? (want to credit to UA)
Will they correctly see this as P or all they will see is R and I will maybe get miles for the underlying PE fare?

Next time one of these fares comes up, no questions in the operating airlines forum until after the deal ends.

OK, this is my first post @ flyertalk. Booked LAX-YUL-GVA in May for one person at $1170 via Expedia. Confirmed within five minutes, but I was unable to select seats online. I called AC and they selected biz seats for all segments over the phone. However, AC called me back a few minutes after the call was over, but I missed that call.
Do we know what time he/she called?
@lzq5010, the # 1 rule of FT is DO NOT CALL THE AIRLINE! You may ruin it for everyone else here who hasn't booked their ticket. And I guess we need to add to that now DO NOT TWEET THE AIRLINE!

Either way, good on AC for honouring and figuring out the details later.

But only to quickly stop things that benefit consumers (deals / MRs / bugs that favour consumers / etc.), and not bugs/issues that screw us, apparently.

As the topic is being actively discussed elsewhere on FT and as it appears the fare is being honoured by AC I'll close this thread and ask member wishing to discuss the error further to continue in the MR Discussion thread.
