I tried it again.
They did NOT try to call me.
I'm done with FlightNetwork. I was told to avoid them before this started, but ... no. They are useless.
Back to the drawing board (or at least other suggestions from this thread )
We tried to call you but not able to reach is the only reason for writing this email .
This email is to advise that we are unable to proceed with your Flight Network reservation as the quoted fare USD 9,141.20 is not valid and the Airlines have auto cancelled your reservations.

Have you looked at?
For $8242.48 U.S. all in for both:
Dec 27 LX4641 and LX176
Jan 4 LH791 and LH6790
Also seeing a slightly cheaper set of fares on Philippines Air.
Please private message me if you can't see them on public sites.

I can even get that to come up on Google Flights, but it won't book. I'd prefer routing through FRA on the return (shot of an upgrade), but at this point I'll take what I can get

The phrasing of that note is exactly like I get from our IT help desk. To be fair they normally do call, although 3am or while I’m in a meeting listed in my calendar and on IM ... I digress.
This.. and the disaster that befolds if something goes awry while travelling is the reason I avoid these sites where ever possible.
Are you sure there isn’t some lingering issue from your previous ”fun” in FRA? I believe AMS was post that but can’t be sure. Just a thought.
Good luck.

And I don't see how me trying to book something through Google Flights on LH.com would be impacted

I may change the requirements here due to the luck I'm having.
In order of importance:
Depart December 27 from YYZ, get back to SFO on the 5th or 6th, or YVR on the 5th or 6th, or YYZ on the 4th or 5th.
Budget: $5k per person.
I want to go somewhere far away.
I want to visit the Signature Suite during alcohol hours.

If trying direct from LH you have tried to call directly? Keeping them in the line until you have a ticket reference?

Ah thought it was FRA. Well Germany anyway It just seems odd that you book these flights yet the tickets never seem to go through. It being an IT issue at the supplier does seem more likely though.

I haven't actually booked anything yet. It comes up on ITA or even Google Flights, but when I click through it fails.

I will propose those to the group, thanks.
Otherwise, I may stay domestic for New Year's and make an international trip in late January or early February.
Edit:
Are you able to price that out anywhere other than ITA? Google Flights and AC.com are both showing MUCH more expensive (over $8k for one person).
That's been my issue this whole time. ITA prices out an itinerary, but it's completely unbookable.

Have you considered a (competent) TA? Both in this itinerary and the one via ICN earlier, there was only one P seat but Z had space. A TA with a relationship with AC could try and get two seats cleared in P.
