Schedule Changes Begin

I got a voice mail from AC changing some flights mostly from YYC-YVR/YVR-YYC near the end of July.

Anyone else getting the calls yet?

I have to give them credit for phoning 7+ weeks in advance with the changes

Cattle why are you booking so far in advance in this market?
Besides, now that things are settling down I would think there will be a points extravaganza sale coming out any day.

Mad Cow

These flights are part of a full Y with upgrade to C at time of booking. I booked them this far in advance to ensure C inventory. Some of my schedules require that I do overnight flights and I wanted to ensure that I didn't have to play Aerolotto when trying to sleep. They haven't been paid for but the seats have been assigned. Just a precautionary measure before the last round of price increases as well. Sometimes the price increases don't apply to previously booked tickets

Absolutely, but if they phone this far in advance, the times might yet change again.

Well, just got a call from Aeroplan regarding the family trip to HNL/OGG in July. Looks like AC has dropped YVR-OGG from the schedule. Our outbound was YVR-HNL, it has been changed to A330 from a 763. The return is now Aloha from Maui to HNL, then AC44 back to YVR. That flight is also leaving earlier, at 9:30PM. The agent was very helpful, offered to make whatever changes necessary to make things work for us. Got to give credit were credit is due.

Not to mention they protected you by buying revenue seats on a non-Aeroplan carrier, Aloha!

SH, very true. Makes you wonder though what it is costing them to give up this routing. Bookings must have been very low to move everyone on to the existing YVR-HNL which I would think is typically busy anyways. That and buying reveune seats on Aloha.

I have been notified about a couple of changes on flights I have booked over the next few months YUL-YYC yesterday and today. Actually one worked out good, the fare level I am travelling on meant I would have had to pay to make changes, but they let me do some major changes to one flight no problems.
