Do you think it is worth 27500 AP to fly SQ J MEL-WLG? (it seems bookable online)
I am curious if anyone wants to share their 2 cents because I am on the fence if I want to burn them for a 4 hour flight or should I spend it elsewhere?
Cheers

Not sure about scamcharges. I would either want to take MEL-WLG or the reverse route. Maybe the reverse if it longer.
However, it looks like a one way from WLG-MEL is only 170 NZD on SQ in Y! HA...but the question remains...is it worth it to spend the AP?

Yes. I recently tossed 40K for a 2 1/2 hour flight because it was worth it to avoid the the $700 fare. As we get closer to 2020, the Aeroplan points will diminish in their real value. Burn baby burn.

If you have the points, it's never a bad thing to redeem for J. I don't know what SQ J is like on that route, but it would't be a question at all for me. Anything above 3 hours is worth J on points as far as I'm concerned.

Could definitely do worse.....book it!
FYI these are served by regional 777 product with 2-2-2 config in J. Depending on when you are planning to fly, there may be a chance that this route may be served by a 787-10(which from what I've seen is a significantly better product).
Also, these theoretically are lie flat seats, they just end up in a slight angle(80-85° vs 90°)
Seatguru map if you're interested.
