Upgrade availability check

I am an SE and have booked four H class tickets from YOW-YVR-HNL with hopes of getting upgraded. At the time of booking the upgrades were plentiful but I can only upgrade 7 days in advance of departure. How can I check online the availability of upgrade seats so that I can alter my plans if need to be to get upgrades? Tahnks. Mukesh

Use this site -

www.seatmap.com

Enter the info (no need to enter flight number unless you are viewing seat map), then press 'View Galileo Data'.

C class is the upgrade class.

So for example, you'll see something like:
Code:
1 YVR HNL 1945 2235 AC 33 J9 C1 Y0 M0 B0 H0 V0 Q0 L0 763*B
C1 denotes 1 upgrade space available.

Thanks Empress for the quick response. All flights are currently showing c9 so I guess it looks good at least for now.
Most of the flights are on 767 on AC. Any recommendations on seat numbers in Business class!

Are you on AC163 and AC041?

Those are domestic configured 763 - so I would say all seats are pretty much the same. Meal service starts from the front to back most of the time on this route, so if you want a good shot at getting your choice of meal, sit closer to the front.

Empress:

Which flights does AC start food service back to front most of the time, in business class? - if you say that "most" of the time on this route, the service starts front to back.

Something just caught my eye - I hope someone else in your party of 4 have some sort of status?

As a SuperElite, you can only upgrade one companion with you.

The new international J service starts from back to front on the left aisle and then front to back on the right aisle. Otherwise on all domestic/transborder flights, it's supposed to start from front to back.

Btw, the new meal service on extra long domestic flights started yesterday (4h 20m+ in flight time).

Empress, I am SE and my wife is E. I am hoping that the agent will upgrade ALL 4 of us 7 days in advance and if not I will upgrade 2 seven days and the other 2, four days in advance. Do you have any better ways to get all four upgraded!

Unfortunately, I think you will have to do 2 @ 7 days prior and the other 2 @ 4 days prior. With both flights showing C9 as you've stated above - I think you'll have no problem getting J.

If you're on AC041 to HNL, you can probably select the same seat as what you pick on the YOW-YVR flight since it's the exact same configuration in business class.

Good luck & enjoy the sun in HNL!

Thanks Empress. I guess, we will be getting the new meal service on both yow-yvr and yvr-hnl. Sounds good. We are actually going to kauai. We will catch Aloha upon arrival at hnl. Have a 2 BR Marriott timeshare booked, so looking forward to it.

You will get the new meal service on YOW-YVR. If your flight to HNL is after June 12, then you'll get the new meal service on that flight as well.
